CIR Announces Q&A Sessions on 5G Wireless and Optical Networking & Embedded Optics

Charlottesville, VA: Industry analyst firm CIR is hosting two Q&A sessions to discuss findings from two recently issued reports that address 5G wireless backhaul and embedded optics.   The sessions are open to the anyone interested in learning more about how CIR views these market opportunities and there is no cost to attend.

5G Wireless Backhaul and Optical Networking:

The first session will take place on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 1:00 PM EDT.  This event will discuss findings from the firm's new report, “Optical Networking Opportunities in 5G Wireless Networks:2017-2026.”  In the report, CIR predicts that worldwide expenditures on 5G backhaul will exceed $2 billion dollars by 2022 and that the optical networking industry will be a key beneficiary of the 5G backhaul build, accounting for almost 60% of 5G backhaul expenditures.

The Embedded Optics Market:
The second session will take place on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM EDT where CIR will discuss findings from the firm's new report, “The Embedded Optics Market, COBO and its Alternatives – 2017-2026.”  According to the new report, the market for embedded optics is expected to reach US$5.5 Billion in 2022.  The report notes that the standardization efforts of the Consortium for on-Board Optics (COBO) group could make embedded optics technology much more popular in the optical networking industry and lead to a new “post-pluggable” transceiver era.
