Founder and President
Lawrence Gasman is President of CIR, the technology forecasting and market analysis firm he founded in 1978. For more than four decades, CIR has provided authoritative guidance and market forecasts covering enterprise computing, telecommunications, optical components, and—more recently—quantum technology. In 2025, CIR expanded its coverage of emerging technologies through the acquisition of the publications division of Inside Quantum Technology, further strengthening its position as a trusted source of market intelligence in advanced technologies.
CIR’s research is known for going beyond industry hype to explain how new technologies create real business opportunities. Its reports analyze how innovations generate new revenue streams, simplify complex processes, and deliver measurable value to organizations. CIR studies also include detailed profiles of leading suppliers, analysis of key legislation and public policy developments, and coverage of important investment and funding trends shaping the technology landscape.
Lawrence Gasman has been widely quoted in leading industry publications and has written numerous articles and four books on technology markets and technology policy. He is a frequent speaker at major industry events, including the Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) and conferences organized by Inside Quantum Technology. He has also helped organize IQT conference programs and has presented in webinars hosted by LIGHTWAVE magazine and other industry organizations.
In addition to his work as an analyst and author, Gasman has testified before the U.S. Congress and has advised the White House on technology and industry policy issues.
Mr. Gasman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Manchester and advanced degrees from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the London Business School. He lives near Richmond, Virginia, with his wife Cynthia, a university professor. He travels widely and has delivered talks and consulting engagements across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Missy Wade
Operations Manager
Missy Wade is VP of Operations for CIR. She has had over 20 years of experience in sales and the administrative field. She handles customer service and sales and the overall operations of CIR. Missy also provides support and assistance to Founder and President, Lawrence Gasman.
Lisa Huff
Chief Analyst
Lisa Huff is Chief Analyst at CIR and a recognized authority on the markets shaping communications and data infrastructure. She recently retired from Omdia, where she covered optical components, and previously founded and led Discerning Analytics, LLC, a successful market research and consulting firm.
An electrical engineer with more than 40 years of industry experience, Lisa combines deep technical knowledge with market intelligence across data centers, optical components, data communications cabling and connectivity, and networking equipment. She has authored more than 80 technical papers and market research reports, chaired committees at OFC, and spoken at leading industry conferences, including CIOE, Data Center World, ECOC, and OFC. Through the end of 2025, she was a Certified Data Center Management Professional (CDCMP®).
Brian Siegelwax
Senior Analyst
Brian Siegelwax is a Senior Analyst covering quantum markets and technology at CIR, Inc. He has also contributed to Inside Quantum Technologies, where his work has included authoring research reports, developing conference programs, and hosting industry-focused podcasts.
In addition to his analytical work, Siegelwax has substantial hands-on experience as a quantum technology practitioner and developer. He has evaluated more than 200 quantum technology products, providing him with a practical perspective that informs his market analysis He is the author of the Quantum Dragon newsletter, published weekly, which offers insights into developments across the quantum technology landscape. The publication is recognized for combining industry analysis with an accessible and engaging style.
Based in Asia, Siegelwax closely monitors the region’s rapidly evolving quantum ecosystem and contributes ongoing analysis of global market and technology trends.
Cynthia Fraser
Lead Analyst
Cynthia Fraser is CIR’s lead analyst for econometrics and data analytics, bringing deep expertise in advanced statistical modeling and Monte Carlo forecasting to inform high-impact business decisions.
She is a faculty member at the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond, where she teaches Statistics for Business and Economics. Dr. Fraser is the author of Business Statistics for Competitive Advantage (Springer), now in its sixth edition, a widely used resource for applying data-driven strategies in competitive markets.
She holds a PhD in Applied Economics from the Wharton School and has published extensively in leading journals, including Management Science, Journal of Marketing, Psychology and Marketing, and Journal of Consumer Research. Her work spans both academic rigor and practical application, including contributions to interdisciplinary research such as a chapter in Advertising and Music (Oxford University Press).
At CIR, she focuses on translating complex data into actionable insights, helping leadership navigate uncertainty, optimize strategy, and drive measurable performance.
